Matcha experience workshop Sunday 2 June 2024

In Japan, tea is inextricably linked to tradition and history. Matcha has been drunk for centuries by Buddhists, and samurai. We explain the difference in quality, and we let you taste various types of ceremonial matcha.

During this match tasting we will introduce you to the Japanese teas, culture and tradition that is closely linked to this. Yu is from Osaka and she will show you, and experience why the Japanese tea is so special. The tasting is accompanied by small Japanese snacks, which pair with the matcha and are vegetarian. You will make and taste a number of different ceremonial matcha from Uji, and Yame. We explain the difference in taste and origin to you.

Yu explains the tradition and history to you, and you can make your own matcha during the tasting.
